May: The Original Tux
I was certain we were going to adopt a fluffy calico girl. But when May and her sister became available through Happy Paws Haven, Robbie locked eyes with a sweet tuxedo kitten and simply knew.
May was the perfect first cat for us. She was loving, curious, goofy, patient, and cuddly - always on her own terms. As brand new cat parents, we had so much to learn, and May gently welcomed us into her world.
She charmed every guest, tested every toy we brought home, and showed us just how meaningful the bond between a person and a cat could be.
Today, May still reigns over the tuxedo kingdom with grace, curiosity, mischief, and love. Her favorite toy is the Original Tux Wand, and she performs the most ridiculous acrobatics from her cat tree trying to catch it.
She was our first tuxedo, the beginning of our cat journey, and the reason Jungle Tux exists.
Neffie: The Brave Heart
Only a few months after adopting May, we realized our family had room for another tuxedo.
On a cold Michigan Saturday, we found a cat named Regina through Last Day Dog Rescue. She had been rescued from a local colony and was still learning that people and homes could be safe. She was timid and unsure, but something about that tiny, wide-eyed girl pulled at our hearts.
We brought her home, gave her the patience she needed, and slowly watched her curiosity begin to replace her fear. Regina became Neffie - the cat who knew she was finally home.
Neffie remains cautious around new people, so most visitors never get to see the cat we know. With us, she is affectionate, devoted, vocal, opinionated, and incredibly playful. She has piercing green eyes, a tiny white spot on her nose, and the athletic ability to turn interactive play into a full-on hunt.
The best part of Neffie’s story is knowing that the frightened little cat we first met now understands exactly how deeply she is loved.
Louie: The One Who Chose Us
After May and Neffie, we truly believed our family was complete.
Then Louie found us.
A compassionate coworker told me about a tuxedo cat living without the consistent care, activity, and enrichment he needed. When an owner surrender was arranged, we agreed to foster him through Last Day Dog Rescue and help him find the right home.
Louie had other plans.
He was a large, energetic cat who had spent much of his early life without appropriate outlets for his instincts. He had to learn how to play, communicate, trust a routine, and understand that meals and affection were things he could depend on.
So we learned alongside him.
We gave him structure, patience, safe ways to wrestle and play, and hours of interactive enrichment. Slowly, Louie began to relax. He discovered how much he loved to play, seek affection, and simply enjoy being a cat.
Those countless hours spent playing with Louie became one of the greatest inspirations behind the Jungle Tux wands. He showed us firsthand how powerful thoughtful, interactive play can be—especially for cats who need an extra outlet for their energy.
Today, Louie is safe, loved, thriving, and exactly where he belongs. We are so grateful he chose us.
Tango: The One Who Rescued Us
We often say that we rescued our first three cats. Tango rescued us.
We weren’t expecting to bring home a fourth tuxedo, but one final kitten found his way into our story. That little tuxedo boy was Tango.
He arrived with tiny paws, monkey-like squeaks, and more confidence than seemed possible for such a small cat. He was playful, gentle, affectionate, and completely unafraid to match the energy of the much larger cats around him.
Tango brought a new lightness into our home. His biscuit-making, soft purrs, and endless enthusiasm for play made him feel like the missing piece we never knew we needed.
Today, Tango is the ultimate Jungle Tux play tester. He is the play master of the house and happily puts every wand through its paces. His favorite is the Party Tux Wand, which he will chase, catch, and retrieve from the top of his cat trees again and again.
Tango completed our family and reminded us that sometimes the answer to a prayer arrives in an unexpected form—with tiny paws, a tuxedo coat, and the ability to change everything.
