Thoughtful Materials for Happy Hunting
Every Jungle Tux wand is handmade using materials selected with both active play and responsible use in mind. Because no cat toy is indestructible, our wands are designed for supervised interactive play and should be inspected regularly and stored out of reach between play sessions.
The Original Tux Wand
The Original Tux features a five-strand braided attachment made from cotton, ribbon, and paracord. The braid is sealed with beeswax to help reduce fraying, then securely wrapped and anchored to the bamboo rod with our signature hardy sisal.
A small amount of non-toxic adhesive is used to secure the knot at the bottom of the sisal wrap, away from the primary play area.
Its durable braided construction makes the Original Tux a great choice for moderate to heavy chewers and cats who love to chase, grab, wrestle, pounce, and drag their prey across the room.
The Party Tux Wand
The Party Tux features a fountain of standard curling ribbon threaded securely through both the top and bottom of our signature hardy sisal wrap. This construction helps hold the ribbon in place and reduces the chance of long strands pulling free during ordinary supervised play.
A small amount of non-toxic adhesive is used to secure the knot at the bottom of the sisal wrap, away from the primary play area.
Because curling ribbon is not chew-proof, the Party Tux is best suited for light to moderate biters and cats who love fluttering movement, quick direction changes, and dramatic airborne attacks.
Natural Bamboo
Both Jungle Tux styles are built on a 3-foot flexible bamboo rod finished with a non-toxic wood stain.
Bamboo is a natural material, so every wand is a little different. Small dents, divots, variations in color and texture, and other natural markings may be present. These differences are part of the character of handmade products and do not necessarily affect performance.
Because bamboo is naturally flexible, each wand may have a slightly different bend or curvature. The rod may also become more curved over time with regular use. These variations are normal and do not affect the wand’s performance.
Like any natural wood product, bamboo can occasionally crack or splinter as it wears. Inspect the rod regularly and retire the wand if you notice significant cracking, splintering, or other damage.
Play Safe!
Always supervise your cat during play and inspect the entire wand regularly. Retire the toy if the bamboo, braid, ribbon, sisal, or any other component becomes loose, frayed, broken, or damaged.
Do not allow your cat to chew or swallow loose pieces. When the hunt is over, store the wand safely out of reach until the next play session.
A quick safety check helps keep every hunt fun.
